Lindsey Kramer of the Division of Aquatic Resources, DAR, and assistant Julia Rose of Nature Conservancy spent over two hours on May 10, 2017, replanting coral on the inner harbor of Kawaihae Reef. We were out on a calm day with fair visibility. This area is recovering nicely. Recent flash flood from rain storm on April 18, 2017, added more sediment to Pelekane Bay and eroded its beach. The bay width is reduced from 1/4 to 1/3.
