Here is a comparison of water temperature for Kawaihae Reef for the month of August in 2015 and 2016. August 2016 temperature range is similar to last year’s in the first part of the month, but remained cooler than last year through the end of the month. Currently, Tropical storm Madeline has passed south of Big Island and is heading east.
