This is a supplemental post to track the growth of the Antler coral as reported here.
On May 18, 2025, USACE surveyed the dolphin piers at Kawaihae Harbor ( see here). They used a small boat that allowed personnel to access those piers. An antler coral, Pocillopora grandis, colony was seen damaged soon afterward. The two events may be connected.

The rough growth (extension) of this Pocillopora grandis is 2.5 cm between March 18, 2025, and September 20, 2025. Those interested in comparing studies of Pocillopora species can view them here.
It is impressive for a coral species to grow 2.5 cm in six months after being damaged.
