Today survey of coral bleaching covered inside of Kawaihae Harbor and outside the break wall. Water temperature is average 85F. Temperature at 25ft was 84F recorded outside the breakwall. 9.1.2015 Coral bleaching has started at this location, mound and lobe corals are photographed. Water temperature is 84F-86F. Last year the bleaching event on other islands were much worst.
