9.1.2015 Coral bleaching has started at this location, mound and lobe corals are photographed. Water temperature is 84F-86F. Last year the bleaching event on other islands were much worst. This is much worst this year at this location than last. Temperature of 84-86F was recorded on 8.16.2015. Flash floods from above water shed on 8.17.2015 and 8.19.2015 clouded the water near shore and in the Kawaihae Reef and Spencer Bay until today, two weeks later. The visibility is still poor but much better than previous week with a wnw swell persisted for about one week.
