The water visibility on 2017.08.20 was fairly good even for the mouth of the Kawaihae South Small Boat Harbor , KSSBH. This area as evident on the Google map above is often plagued with sediment. History is about to repeat itself when the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation Harbors Division implements its 2035 Commercial Harbor Master Plan for Kawaihae Harbor shortly.

Kawaihae South Small Boat Harbor facilities still not open to public.
