

This Variable Sabretooth Blenny, Petroscirtes variabilis, was photographed on 4/28/2025.
According to Wikipedia, Petroscirtes variabilis, the variable sabretooth blenny, variable fangblenny, or the variable blenny, is a species of combtooth blenny found in the western Pacific and Indian Ocean. This species reaches a length of 15 centimetres.
John Hoover commented that there are no native Petroscirtes in Hawaii. Yet it was here in Kawaihae Harbor.

Maybe a vagrant, not part of or breeding population?
Who knows. I have been looking for it. It probably found a more suitable location.
